Threepenny Opera

by Bertolt Brecht & Kurt Weill

Jenny, Macheath, and Polly
Bertolt Brecht's and Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera created a sensation in Berlin in 1928. Brecht and Weill mined John Gay's 18th-century The Beggar's Opera and the political and social strife of pre-Nazi Germany to create a groundbreaking masterpiece of musical theater.

Goat Hall Productions presents an exciting new production, "a beggarly opera, put on by beggars," as raw, ribald, and relevant as ever. Directed by Harriet March Page with musical direction by Cody Gillette, the cast includes Douglas Mandell as Macheath, John Adams as Tiger Brown, Camille Davis as Lucy Brown, Harry Christ as Peachum, Harriet March Page as Mrs. Peachum, Tisha Page as Polly Peachum, and Miriam Lewis as Jenny Towler.

Some in light and some in darkness, that's the kind of world we mean;
	Those you see are in the daylight, those in darkness don't get seen
